I was
born left-handed

For the first 18 months of my life I was a left-handed (so my parents tell me) little boy, living in a modest semi-detached house in the suburbs of Manchester, England. However, for reasons that unfortunately exceed my own personal memory (but that I take my parents’ word for), my family had to move into the adjacent house and, in doing so, into a mirrored image of what I had become accustomed to during my relatively short life to that point. So, now living next door and suddenly finding my whole world back to front, I naturally switched to using my right hand.

This is probably the earliest notable instance that I showed an understanding in the significance of the visual world that surrounds us all, and interestingly, how the finer details in a design and layout can so often have a diverse affect on us; evoking emotions and provoking reactions.

I still harbour this ethos today, and pride myself in providing highly conceptual, engaging and visually stimulating work that makes people look, and think, twice.

I enjoy creating well crafted, distinctive and original work and believe in a structured yet simplistic approach towards delivering smart and effective design solutions appropriate for the client’s needs.

I remain right-handed.

Right here, right now

I am a multi-disciplinary graphic designer, currently based in Vancouver, Canada. This portfolio website showcases a selection of work from my 5+ years industry experience.

Since graduating in 2010 with a first class honours degree in Design & Art Direction from Manchester School of Art , I have been fortunate enough to work in a variety of design roles creating work for local emerging businesses and globally reputable brands across a variety of sectors.

This has included branding and identity design; typography; art direction; photography, filming and editing; print; editorial; branded environments; signage and way-finding; packaging; and designing for websites and digital application.

In addition to full-time studio work I frequently undertake freelance jobs and also enjoy the challenge of developing my own personal projects.

If you’d like to discuss a potential project or would like to learn more about what I can do for you, please get in touch.
